How to Clean & Reuse Press-Ons: Clean-Up + Storage Tips

Once your press ons are removed properly, they do not need to be thrown away. With a quick clean up and light prep, they can be reused and still look flawless. Here is how to get them ready for their next wear.

Step 1: Wash Off Residue

After removal, press ons may feel slick from oils or remover. Gently wash them with soap and warm water to remove any residue.

Step 2: Let Them Dry Fully

Make sure press ons are completely dry before filing or storing. Any leftover moisture can affect glue adhesion or cause issues later.

Step 3: File the Underside and Edges

Using a fine grit file or buffer, lightly file away leftover glue from the underside. Smooth the edges if needed. You do not need to remove all glue, just enough to create an even surface.

Step 4: Lightly Buff if Needed

If the underside still feels smooth or shiny, lightly buff it. This helps glue adhere better during the next application.

Step 5: Store Properly

Store press ons in a clean, dry container such as a small organizer or storage box to keep them protected between wears.

Bonus Tip

When removed with the Nail Release Elixir, press ons stay in better condition and are easier to prep for reuse.
