About the Founder

Q: Who are you?
Hi, I’m Shirley Verdugo. I’m a mom, an immigrant, and the creative behind Vinyluxe Nails. I built this brand from the belief that women deserve freedom, expression, and work that feels fulfilling.
Q: How did your nail journey begin?
I’ve been doing my own nails for many years. For the longest time I kept things simple, maybe a polka dot if I felt bold, but eventually I wanted real designs and I couldn’t make them happen with polish. One day I looked at the vinyl I already had and thought, “What if I use this?” That small spark of curiosity shifted everything for me.
Q: Why vinyl? Why press-ons? Why digital designs?
Vinyl let me design without limits. It gave me a creative voice when my hands couldn’t paint what my mind imagined. Press-ons became the bridge that let me share that creativity, offering women beauty that feels intentional, reusable, and freeing. No hours lost, no pressure to spend more than they want to.
Digital designs are another way to continue sharing creativity without limits, giving women more tools to create art in their own way.
Q: What do you hope people feel when they wear your nails?
I hope they feel confident, creative, and connected to themselves. I want every set to feel intentional and expressive, like a small piece of art that stays with you and lifts your mood, even on the heavy days. It’s a way to let your personality show without saying a word.
Q: What inspires your designs?
My designs are inspired by my life, by the things I genuinely enjoy, and sometimes by ideas shared by others. I take those sparks of inspiration and shape them into art that feels expressive and intentional.
Q: What do you stand for as a founder?
I stand for transparency, creativity, quality, and real opportunities for women. My work is guided by honesty and intention, and by the belief that creative careers and creative moments both matter. Vinyluxe Nails is a community where our team and our customers can feel supported, expressive, and free to create.
Q: What’s your bigger vision?
My bigger vision is to build a creative space and community where women can feel independent, inspired, and fully themselves. I want Vinyluxe Nails to become a place where creative moments and creative careers meet, a space where women can gather, express themselves, and feel supported. I see a future where we have a physical space for gatherings, workshops, and moments of creativity that help women feel connected and inspired.
Q: Fun fact?
Fun fact: I narrate my life in my head like it’s a podcast. Maybe that’s why creating Nail Talk Therapy feels so natural to me.
